Whilst it's totally up to yourself you should remeber that hosts like this are costing you money - all the time spent equals lost revenue to yourself. In my own personal/private/own opinion there are many better hosts out there, where you'll receieve a better level of customer service (something you definately don;t appreciate until you actually need it). For me, everytime I've had to use their support center it's been simple pain and I've personally zero customer support from them.

Just this week I needed to chase up a domasin transfer with another, in my opion, extremely poor company - streamline.net. Again, a simple tasks, changing a A record on a clients domain that is hosted with them. The only customer service I recieved from them was read from pre written answerrs from their support staff. Aagain, all wasted time, that we all don't have. 5 out of the 10 results on page 1 of Google are negative when you GOogle their name - the internet REALLY doesn;t lie when it comes to things like this. Do some homework, have a read around about 1and1 reviews - hundreds of bad experiences.

I too have been tempted to go with 1 and 1 for my hosting but have been put off by horror stories, despite using them to register all of my domains for almost 10 years. The main thing for me is lack of cPanel. Instead, they use their own software. Maybe I'll just take the plunge and give them a go after reading this. Interesting atricle.

Yes, as as I said before :)

You also seem to have accidentally slipped and added an seo link with the anchor text "website development" to your reply. As this was clearly a mistake, I removed it for you, free of charge :)

Ok, was just about to comment on your post when I noticed your AJAX gravatar fetch. Sweet little number, that.

Moving swiftly along... I host with NuBlue. Small host, small team, quite happy to sit in chat with me debugging Magento when it goes pear-shaped (as it has a habit of doing, totally not their fault but they get stuck in anyway). As for the quality of the hosting itself... I can run Magento on their shared boxes. Says it all, really.
